2 Day Course – Friday 29th November 2019 and Monday 27th January 2020
Day 1 – 29/11/19
Course Outline:
The course will consider:
- the curriculum content for English and mathematics in year 1
- practical and pedagogical approaches that ensures effective teaching and learning and build on from the EYFS
An English and mathematics gap task to evidence progress for an identified group of pupils
Key Outcomes
Delegates will have a clearer understanding of how to secure progress, and embed subject specific knowledge within year 1
Day 2 – 27/01/20
Course Outline:
The course will consider:
- the nature of performance and progress in learning
- pedagogical approaches to developing and embedding knowledge and understanding
- assessing how much pupils have learned following a structured gap task
An English and mathematics gap task to evidence progress for an identified group of pupils
Key Outcomes
Delegates will have a clearer understanding of how to secure progress, and embed knowledge.
Delegates are required to attend both days

All bookings will remain chargeable until written confirmation is received of a cancellation. A charge of 35% will be incurred if a delegate place is cancelled within 5 working days of the course date.
The full course fee will be charged for any delegate/s who do not arrive for a course for which a place has been booked and has not been cancelled. The school is encouraged to send a replacement delegate.
The charge for any delegate failing to attend a subject leader update, and not cancelling their place in advance, will be £5 to cover administration and refreshment costs.
